Last week I had the pleasure of being involved in a video shoot promoting the Delaware Health Information Network, or DHIN for short.  As a primary care physician, DHIN helps me to have quick access to patient labs, radiology reports as well as hospital consultation notes and discharge summaries.  I can work more efficiently because I don't have to get on the phone to get copies of records.  I'm also more efficient with my time since I don't have to hunt down which lab the tests were done at.  For most family doctor's this is a great resource to be utilized.

Getting access to DHIN is free and easy.  All you have to do is have a license to practice medicine in the state of Delaware!  The training is simple and the website itself is very intuitive in it's use.  Staff members can get access to what they need to help the office run smoothly and cut down on patient wait time.  Even though there is a huge push to have primary care doctors to use this system, even subspecialists can benefit from having patient information from all over the stat in one easy to find location.

Once the video is edited, I'll have a link on my site to view it.  For any physicians who would like to know more or ask me about my experiences with DHIN, feel free to contact me.
